Consistent quality, reliable store

I've bought from Blog Médiéval a few times now. This time, I got some braies médiévales. Like my previous orders for a cape en laine and some chaussures médiévales, the quality was consistent. The sizing was accurate, and the material felt durable. Delivery always takes about the same amount of time, typically around 8-12 days to the East Coast, which I've come to expect. It's why I keep coming back; I know what I'm getting, and it's always good. No surprises, which is what you want with this kind of gear.

Good tunic, fast shipping

I grabbed a tunique en lin a few weeks ago for a local fair. It arrived in about 5 days, which was quicker than I thought it'd be coming from France. The fabric felt nice, not scratchy or anything. Wore it all day and it was comfy. Pretty happy with it overall.

Got a fibule. It came pretty fast. Looked good. No issues with it. Simple and effective. Does what it's supposed to. Happy with the purchase.

Good items, long wait

I bought a dague de reconstitution and a corne à boire. The items themselves were well-made and matched the descriptions online. The dagger felt solid, and the drinking horn was properly sealed, no leaks. My main gripe was the delivery time; it took almost three weeks to get to California, which felt a bit long even for international shipping. I know they're coming from France, but other shops sometimes get things here quicker. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the delay, which helped. Good products, but just be prepared to wait a bit.

Quality armor piece and service

I ordered a casque de chevalier and a ceinturon en cuir. The ordering process was smooth, and the website laid out all the dimensions clearly, which helped a lot with sizing the helmet. It took about 10 days for delivery to my address in Texas, which was within the estimated timeframe. Both items were well-packaged, arriving without any dents or scratches. The helmet felt robust and historically accurate, with good padding inside. The leather belt was also of high quality. I had a question about care for the leather, and customer support responded to my email within 24 hours with helpful advice. Everything was as described, making for a positive shopping experience.

Is Blog Médiéval reliable? Never ordered from a French site before, wondering if the quality is good for reenactment gear or if it's more costume-y.

Super reliable. Got my shield and some leather bits from there, solid stuff. Definitely not costume-y. It's for actual reenactment.

I've ordered a few times, everything's been good. They source some decent gear, not like cheap Halloween stuff you find elsewhere. Plus, their blog articles are usually really well researched which makes me trust the shop more too, afaik.

hey, was looking at getting a full plate set for an event, but I'm kinda between sizes on their chart. anyone have experience with their armor sizing? like, is it usually accurate or should I size up/down?

A Alex E. 1 month ago
I got a gambeson from them a while back and the sizing chart was pretty spot on for me. Measure carefully!

Yeah, my coif fit perfectly too. I think they try to be pretty precise since it's for reenactment stuff. Don't size up unless you want to add a bunch of padding underneath.
